Journalists used to look at their jobs like tenured professors...not caring exactly where their paycheck was coming from but assured it was coming. That's changed. They're expected to know the business. Now, there's hand-wringing in the news rooms, questions about the ethics of the new business model, but the future of journalism will learn to keep it separated to be successful and true to the profession.
